L&F was an American record production and songwriting duo, which stood for Lost and Found, consisted of cousins, Uforo "Bongo 'The Drum GAHD'" Ebong and Christopher "C4" Umana. The meaning of Lost and Found is finding their purpose and wanting to show other people to show that focus. Despite a good working relationship, the two parted ways at the beginning of 2015 to pursue their individual endeavors. ==History== Ebong was born in Nigeria and raised in Providence, Rhode Island and Florida. Umana was born and raised in Georgia.〔 They've been able to keep in contact and make music all across the country. When Ebong moved to Los Angeles, it became easier for them to find their way to each other, and worked on their production from there. Their influences came from a lot of places, Umana first played music in a church. He played keyboards and organs, that's how he started off, then started to make beats on a triton keyboard. His biggest inspiration was to be able to pull from that spiritual stand point and create music has given him a great foundation on who to lead and follow peoples energy and vibes. Ebong was also raised in the church, which has a lot do with his musical upbringing and his brother who always had good music around him. Everything from Stevie Wonder, J Dilla, and Marvin Gaye.〔 Ebong started writing songs at eight years old and started making beats at eleven. He started on FL Studio making beats so he can rap on and making beats for his friends. They both first met at Umana's mother and father's 25th anniversary and he discovered that he had another family member that was into music as well, so that was the birth of them getting together. The first time they were in Umana's mother's basement, Ebong had a CD of beats and Umana just played the piano. He didn't understand one person doing all the instrumental on one record. Then Ebong showed him how to use FL Studio and it opened he mind to a whole new thing. They were both doing music separately in their own households, until they formed in 2003.〔 Their first official production credit came up in 2008, on Musiq Soulchild's song called "Radio", the title track for the album, ''OnMyRadio''. For the production of Trey Songz' "Y.A.S.", L&F got a call saying that Songz wanted them to send him some sounds. Bongo had made piano ballad slash trap beat, and C4 described it as a different unorthodox type feel on it and it was very interesting. It really stuck out throughout the whole song. They started to get more recognition for the production of Big Sean's "Jit/Juke", released in September. L&F were both separately on different sides of the country. They both came together and came up with the idea of "Jit/Juke", and was the first time they had been in the same location in over a year. When the record was being made, they were both on different sides of the country working on it separately. Umana was at a wedding in Atlanta, and Ebong was in Los Angeles. Bongo put the drums in and did the music. Then they took it to Big Sean and he loved it.
